OWEN SOUND – On Friday, May 26, MPP Rick Byers attended a presentation at Keystone Child, Youth & Family Services in Owen Sound. MPP Byers began his remarks by congratulating Keystone on the work it’s done since receiving $114,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant in 2022 through the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This grant was used to update the electrical panels and wiring at its location, allowing for additional renovations for future use of the building space.

“Great to have met with Keystone Child, Youth & Family Services to recognize receipt of a $114,000.00 Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Such a great facility and organization serving children and families in our community. Many thanks!” MPP Rick Byers, Bruce Grey Owen Sound.

The upgraded electrical panels and wiring will provide the necessary power and infrastructure to support more space, including a board room, kitchen, and large community room, with the ability to provide sufficient electrical power for additional projects and vision for the facility. The large community space will be an invaluable resource to the organization and is open for use by local community partners supporting children, youth and families in Grey and Bruce Counties. The space allows services and people to come together for collaboration and partnership to better the lives of children, youth, and families and expand training programs, workshops, host community events and provide a comfortable and safe environment for clients and their families.

The ability to know that the electrical infrastructure is sufficient, updated, and powerful enough to keep providing quality services and supports to children, youth and families is a relief for the not-for-profit organization. Keystone is grateful for the Ontario Trillium foundation’s support of our organization and our mission to improve the mental health and well-being of children and families in our communities.
