$46,400 Grant Helps Deliver Free Circus Experiences to Children and Youth

July 27, 2022

Owen Sound – On Friday July 22, MPP Rick Byers was joined by Hugh Wilson, an Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) volunteer to meet with representatives from LookUp Theatre to hear how a $46,400 grant awarded last Fall has made an impact. The group received a Community Building Fund grant to help with key operating costs like salaries, implementing online programming, and buying needed equipment to adapt to COVID-19 protocols. LookUp Theatre was hosting a free circus show with local youth performing that evening.

“It was great to see that Lookup Theatre had received this support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This is richly deserved given all the hard work they do to support the creative and artistic needs of many youth in our community” MPP Rick Byers, Bruce Grey Owen Sound

The Community Building Fund grant program was delivered for the Government of Ontario by the Ontario Trillium Foundation in 2021.

“Our programming provides access to free, community-based arts education for children and youth in Bruce-Grey County. This funding has allowed us to continue and pivot our circus programming and performing in a pandemic environment.” Angola Murdoch, Artist Director
